What is the League of Legends World Championship?
The League of Legends World Championship, also known as Worlds, is the pinnacle of the competitive League of Legends professional calendar.
The best League of Legends teams compete over a multi-week period to determine who will lift the Summoner’s Cup and be crowned the World Champions of the game.
The teams in attendance represent various regions across the globe, with the likes of the North American LCS, European LEC, Korean LCK, and Chinese LPL amongst others represented by teams at the international tournament.
The base prize pool for Worlds is approximately $2,225,000 in addition to a percentage of revenue from in-client sales of event-related virtual items. The winning team is also granted the opportunity to work with Riot Games and design a champion skin that will be playable in-game.

The League of Legends World Championship 2022 will be taking place across four different venues in Mexico and the United States.
