After announcing our new partnership with North, we sat down with the team to gain an understanding of who they are and how they approach the game. The second in the series sees us talk to one of the newer team members, Nicklas “gade” Gade.
What was it like moving from the North Academy, to a different team and then returning to the main roster?
It’s been a fantastic journey. Since I joined the North Academy team my lust and hunger to become a "real" professional player only grew. I wanted it so badly, so when I had my shot with OpTic and then being able to come back to where it all started for me, to North, I finally felt like I really made it.

How has the experience of living and playing in the US affected your play?
Living in the US was an experience that helped me develop and evolve mentally as a player as well as personally. I met people that I would have never met in Denmark and gained friendships and an even bigger network. I learned more about my own game and I would say that I improved within those six months.

Follow Pinnacle EsportsHow did you get into playing CS:GO?
I started playing CS:GO with some of my friends after finishing high school. That's when I was just working, earning money and trying to figure out what my future held.
When did you transition into becoming a competitive player?
For me, competing has always been a part of my life. Since I was a little kid and before I could even walk, my father took me to swimming lessons. Swimming ended up being a huge part of my childhood and teenage years and I was training really hard to try and become professional. Though when I started in high school I quit due to not having enough time on my hands because of homework, friends and family.

Who was the first player that gave you confidence to start competing
I do not think there was a specific player who got me into competing.
In your eyes what is success and what is failure?
I would say that comes down to the individual. One can simply not decide whether or not a person is successful except for themselves. If you have goals or you are driven or motivated by something, you strive to achieve those goals and if you end up achieving them. That is what I call success.
Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your 18-year old self?
Study harder and try to figure out what you want in life at an early age. I consider myself a pretty confident person and always believed in myself in everything I do.
