The IEM Rio Major 2022 is one of the biggest and most prestigious esports events of the year. In this betting guide, we will explain how teams will qualify through IEM Road to Rio RMR Europe B, which teams are participating, and who the favourites might be.
What is the IEM Road to Rio RMR?
RMR stands for Regional Major Rankings and they are the final regional qualification tournaments for the IEM Rio Major 2022, all taking place between October 4 and October 9. After the qualification tournaments finish, we will know which 24 teams will be participating at the second CS:GO major of this year, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil between October 31 and November 13.
For the European teams, there are two RMR events, IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR A and IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B, both being played in Malta. Through both of these two events, the top eight teams will qualify for the IEM Rio Major 2022, bringing the total of European teams taking part in the major to 16.
There are six spots in Rio reserved for South American and North American teams, who will have to qualify through the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Americas RMR, which are taking place in Stockholm, Sweden.
The final two spots are for Asia, for which four teams will take on each other in the Road to Rio 2022 Asia RMR, happening in Melbourne, Australia.
Which teams will be at IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B?
Sixteen teams have qualified for the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B either through their performance at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 earlier this year or the Open Qualifiers. Of those 16 teams, only eight teams will qualify for the IEM Rio Major 2022. From those eight, five teams will start at the Challengers Stage. The event will start with a Swiss system best-of-one (Bo1) format, after which the Elimination and Advancement matches will be played as a best-of-three (Bo3).

Which teams will qualify through IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B?
Two teams that undoubtedly will qualify for IEM Rio Major 2022 are NAVI, with the worlds current best player Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, and Team Vitality, with Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut.
I don’t expect many surprises within IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B group. The Danes Heroic, under supervision of Casper “cadiaN” Moller, and MOUZ are solid choices to qualify, based on their solid performance of late.
Although ENCE, with their new singing Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia, have dropped places in the HTLV World Rankings, I can see them bouncing back and they are still a team that should make it to Rio. Two other teams that should make it to the Major are OG and Outsiders, especially in this group.
For the last spot there are two teams in contention and it could go either way. The Germans from BIG and the French Falcons, with two-time Major winner Nathan “NBK-“ Schmitt within their ranks, both have a chance to claim this last spot.
